Avanquest

Uncharacteristically, I purchased a piece of clearance software at abour $20. It didn't work the way it ought to have worked, so I contacted Avanquest. After a few emails back and forth, I had an updated software version and a new, FREE piece of software that provided additional enhancements to the updated software.

It's nice to deal with companies that don't forget about the customer after the sale.

Gilmour

These guys are tops on my list!

A few months ago I bought a big ol' sprinkler that, after about two months, died. It just stopped oscillating.

Having already discarded the receipt, I figured I'd contact (no doubt in vain) the company via their web site and plead my case.

Much to my surprise, I received a response asking for my mailing addres, which I provided.

Three weeks later there was a brand new sprinkler on my porch in a cardboard box! Wow!!! Talk about a breath of fresh air. They didn't even ask for the bad sprinkler back!

Thank you!

Cha-Cha's Mexican Restaurant

One of my Favorite restaurants.

With the exception of one shitty waiter, the service is exceptional. To give you an idea of how exceptional; even the owner (at the original location) will come out to clear tables, pour water, etc.

The food is freakin' awesome, and the menu hasn't changed to accomodate tourists whose idea of authentic, fine Mexican cuisine is made at El Torito or Chi Chi's. There's an old restaurant here in town that caved to tourists and changed their menu to the point that I refuse to go any more. It used to be really good. Now they serve crap.

Dillard's Department Store

I went into the Ingram Park Mall store to buy The Warden a new purse & a wallet. I wrote the check for $536 and the Certegy check approval service denied it!!

I got on the Dillard's web site and complained. Three days later the store manager called back. I also got an email from them.

Very refreshing to have a big company actually recognize a paying customer as the reason they're in business.

Discount Tint and Alarm

I've only been to this San Antonio business once, but they treated me right. The owner was very friendly and didn't feed me a line of shit or make a hard sell for shit I didn't need.

When I went back because a couple of the windows had air bubbles in them, they replaced them without whining or trying to weasel their way out of making things right.
